    Again entered into Asian Paints at 772 now. Keeping strict stop and also fingers crossed...

    Finally sold Asian Paints @800 which was earlier taken at 772.

    Inbetween there was pain, but finally Asian made ground with a rally.
    Decent gains finally after struggle.

    Party time but then I would have sold partly and made a trailing stop loss for this stock to gain more profit from the momentum

    Yes Shabbir, that would have been the right approach. Could have sold partial today at 800+ levels.
    But market volatility and unpredictability forced me to exit before Asian Paints is going to declare Q4 results next week Monday.

    Depends on results and how market stays overall. In the medium term you can be long but specific to tomorrow nothing can be judged.

    If results are not overwhelming/beating expectations in a good way, there is a good chance of Asian Paints slipping down on results day tomorrow. Already there was fair amount of profit booking seen, and Asian couldn't hold above 800-805 after touching highs of around 818. Stay alert.

    What is psychology behind this?

    I told to stay alert and there you go.
    Huge profit booking, selling seen and the downfall. Asian ran up too much even when market was muted, and I am just guessing that DII had entered Asian and pulled it up, and now they are fleeing and dumped Asian to buy other stocks in today's +ve market.
