what are block deals

    Block deals are deals where transaction value is either

    Above 5Crore
    5% equity capital of the company

    So any deal where you have trade which falls in the above category means it will be a block deal and your orders are not visible to others as those orders can be taken advantage of (at times)

    So block deals are deals where the deal happens offline and is executed in market hours to protect the price of the stock.

    So I have 5Croro worth of shares of any company and if I want to sell in market, it may hit a circuit but if on any given day I have decided with some party that I am ready to sell this stock at this price and if he is ready to buy at the same price we punch the orders and they get executed in the exchange.
