    I thought of you when I read this quote from "Right Stock at Right Price for Right Time" by Shabbir Bhimani -

    "One more important aspect to look into the annual reports is does the promoter hold a company that is in similar in business as the listed company or not. If yes, it is a big no for me to consider investing."

    Plz explain with example

    Ideally, a promoter shouldn't have 2 companies in the similar business. They should ideally be merged or one to become subsidiary of others.

    If it doesn't happen then things looks phishy.
