What Criteria to be applied to filter the stock that have Consistently moved upwards-Or Simply say Trend line moves upwards over a long time
For example if you see the stock like HDFC Bank or ITC, they have consistent growth over the long time(8 years chart)
Now i have tried to filter with historical PE over a long time with comparing to a short time, but it fails
Any idea where price patten can be captured every year in the financial data and on which we can filter the stock fundamentally

Fundamentally you cannot filter a chart because fundamentally you invests in business based on its growth prospects, its positioning, its management and more importantly its sector.

Technically you can play with charts and numbers.

There is second school of thoughts who work on PE numbers and growth forecast but that is more like a funding shortcuts to fundamental investments.
