    Shabbir and friends...need your inputs on singer india Ltd..it's into sewing machine and needle manufacturer...visited couple of garments and they are using this brand from quite some time and I don't see any competitor for this brand...need your feedback before I take long position

    The issue is with their OPM which is under 3% and it is quite low. If they are a niche player, they should have better profit margins but it seems the market has competition from non-listed player and so they have OPM as low as 3%.

    They are now migrating to consumer durables. See their increasing income from coolers irons etc. No more a sewing machine company. Yes low OPM but I expect it to increase next few quarters. Strong brand, dealer network, foreign promoter parentage, dividend paying, decent cash flows, low market cap. I am monitoring couple qtly results to get in as a turnaround bet.
