I have invested in Stocks, Mutual Funds (both Equity and Debt), Taxfree Bonds etc. I shall be receiving my PF contributions from EPFO, of which I would like to invest Rs 50 lacs in schemes which are of modest risk and can earn me annual returns which beat inflation by about 5%, say annualized return of about 11-12% post tax. Request for your suggestions, Shabbir

Shabbir, thanks for the reply. Do you suggest a lump sum investment in HDFC Prudence - Div option. Wouldnt it be better if I plan a SIP in two balanced funds (growth option) over a period of 12 to 18 months (I could do that) and start withdrawing every month thereafter. Also could you please suggest another 1 or 2 balanced funds.

I prefer to make you independent of me suggesting you fund and you can do that using ValueResearchOnline Fund Selector - https://www.valueresearchonline.com/funds/fundSelector/default.asp

So for balanced fund you should select Hybrid Equity Oriented and if you conservative select the right one.
