    Hi Shabbir,

I am new to MF territory. Want to invest small amount monthly (SIP) in MF for 3-5 years.

Not looking for tax saving just saving so i get a good amount in 5 yrs time.

Currently i can only invest 1000-2000 per month. I may be able to invest more in future but for now 2000 is the max per month. And i have selected

    1. DSP BLACKROCK Microcap Fund
    2. HDFC Balanced Fund

I have a few doubts and would appreciate if you can shed some light on it.

    1. For RS 1000-2000 is it ok to invest in MF or some better options are out there.

    2. If i do invest should i split between the 2 funds or invest in 1 fund for the timebeing.

    3. What would be your recommendation based on my requirements.

    regards,

No. MF's are the best option for you for 5 years.

    Yes better.

I will suggest you to get started immediately with your SIP.
