    Hi,

Recently I was going through some older posts where members were asking to recommend few stocks for long term investing and I'd like to share this with you.

It may not be a good idea to have a predefined perception of a stock as long term. If you do this then when price action unfolds and for some reasons the price corrects and goes in a downtrend you may still be holding the position as you have decided that the stock if held for long term and you should let go off it.

I've seen few examples where my friends who took some trades for intraday turned out to be good performer that they held to it as swing trade and then as position trade and kept adding to the position (note this is not averaging) when ever there was a good opportunity.

Let me share the trade that I took on Aug-2010 when I was using fundamentals for investing and bought La Opala RG @50/= and sold on Sep-2011 @126 which gave an appreciation of 150% and I couldn't have asked more than this.
When I was reviewing my portfolio for old positions I noticed the current price is @760 which is a whopping 760% had I kept my original position.

Had I known TA by then I would have moved the stock to my position holding portfolio.

So don't have a predefined perception of a stock as you may always be forced to think the same way and may miss out what is in front of you and never regret in case if you had missed out an opportunity as it will create a guilty feeling and you may miss the present opportunity.
We never know how long is Long Term until we see good patterns in the chart.

    Happy trading.
