    I have been reading about algo trading and software to perform the same.

    Can you please tell us what is ALGO trading? and is it good?

    No personal experience but then I will try to avoid courses and prefer books.

    algo trading is around for quite some time, many big firm uses it. but definitely not for retail investors or small people. it involves numbers of data analysis and system design. as shabbir suggested books are your best friend. read as many books you can on the subject.
