All Shares Not Recieved

    Can somebody explain this I dont understand? because I am new to stock market. E-mail received from HDFC securities.

    Reference: Payout of 1000 shares of HEIDELBERG CEMENT INDIA LTD..

    Dear Sir / Madam,

    Please be informed that on 03-Oct-12, you had Bought 1000 share/s of
    HEIDELBERG CEMENT INDIA LTD. - settlement No. 1213130 Payout of which, as
    per T+2 Settlement system of 1213130 was on 05-Oct-12.

    Against the same, we had received Payout of 900 share/s only. For balance
    100 shares there is a Buyer shortage.

    Settlement in cases where there is a Shortage it is deferred till Auction
    Settlement, which is on 08-Oct-12.

    It means the seller from u have bought the share has short the shares or with out taking complete delivery he sold it to u, so will receive ur remaining shares on 8th oct after auction.
    Don't worry about that u will get remaining share in ur DP by 9th oct.
    It just to inform u that if u sell these shares(1000) then u will also be short side of 100 shares.

    it seems taht u sold your stock before the settlement.If i am correct in this case what happens that someone sells his stock before these comes to his account,hence results to a short sell.by rule this much qty will be auctioned.But dont mind if the setlement concludes before 8th oct then auction will not be conducted.

    If you plan to sale, make sure you don't sale more than 900 and rest 100, you will be making profit and getting those shares. The short seller will be penalized 20% price on the day it is purchased for you in auction..
