    Hi everyone,

    This is Nisarg here, 24 years old, very new to investing/trading. Have graduated recently and now run a small engineering firm. Since being from an engineering background, I didn't have much knowledge about finance and didn't want to invest money without a base. After accidentally landing on Shabbir's blog, I have got sucked into the field of Technical analysis. Some say it works, some say it doesn't. But I want to try it out on my own and must say, after reading the e-book, I have gained a lot of knowledge. Now looking forward to gaining even more through this forum, knowledge and money both :D.

    Pardon me for my ignorance, but is this the right thread to ask you questions in order to clear my doubts?

    My question to you was that when we are analysing a chart, then what is the appropriate time frame which we should select? Do we analyse the chart on a 6 months, 1 year, 2 year or 3 year basis?

    Nisarg, it is always better to start with 3 years and then get to smaller versions upto six months. The longer the chart is bullish for the stock, the better for being long in that stock.
