Need your guidance for selected 10 Mutual Funds

    Hello Everyone,

    After a bit of research, shortlisted following MF list for lumpsum investment of Rs 2 lacs. Need your inputs/suggestions for below list.

    Investment Horizon greater than 5 years

    Selection criteria
    1) Consistent return in its category over a period of 1 year, 3 year and 5 years
    2) Diversified Fund Class (i.e pool of Large Cap, Small & Midcap, Diversified and Debt fund)

    The list of funds are good but then you have selected lot more fund in small and midcap class and I will not invest in all of them but as few as possible.

    I will evaluate each funds benchmark and see which can outperform. I have done similar process for the tax saving fund here.

    So apply the same for all the funds you have selected like for Franklin Smaller Companies Fund name looks quite attractive but it is midcap 100 as benchmark and is classifieds as Equity: Small Cap by VRO where as Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip is Equity: Midcap fund with same benchmark and so try to get the fund that is performing better out of the two and avoid the one that is not performing as good as the other.

    You can have one in each. Otherwise it would be duplication . One elss, 1large cap, 1 multicap 1 mid and 1 small and one 1 debt fund

    Dear Shabbir,Above list have two large cap fund SBI blue chip fund(S&P BSE 100 benchmark)Kotak select focus fund (Benchmark Nifty 200)and third is Birla sun life frontline equity fund(S&P BSE 200).
    Kindly help to select one large cap fund.

    From the above chart, there is hardly any difference in returns in 24, 36 or even 60 months between SBI blue chip fund and Kotak select focus fund so either or is a good choice.
